Thanks Trevor, definately was an ugly weekend.
Markstrom is out with a LBI. Wolf called up, who do think will start...Wolf or Vladar? |

99% chance it's Vladar. I can see them giving Vladar the next two if Markstrom's out and then sending Vladar to the AHL unless he's amazing.
Pretty tough spot to put Wolf in against the Avs considering how his season has gone so far. Montreal is a good spot to give him some confidence.

I think it depends how Vladar does tonight. If Flames get destroyed again I can see them trying out Wolf. Marky being "hurt" is a damn good reason to get Wolfy some exposure. Although not sure you want THAT much exposure. |

Small update. The Flames have officially renounced Rönni's draft rights. |

Yeah it is a bit of poop luck having to go directly on that murderer’s row trip through Florida and Carolina and then getting a day to practice before facing Colorado and now Vegas.
Lots of new faces on the D corps. |

With the Flames drafting anywhere more than likely with the 10-15 pick this year do they pick Iginla if he's available? I'm sure Edwards has probably already made it known what he wants. |

I think they definitely go for Tij. Not sure if that is a great idea or not, Time will tell.

Good player. Him or Catton are the guys to pick early out of the dub in my opinion. Not huge on Lindstrom or Yak. |

The Flames are looking to copy to Dallas way to rebuild a team. Dallas' rebuild only worked because they were able to win the lottery by moving from 8th to 3rd to get the stud defenceman. The worst the Flames can realistically do is finish 8th worst this year. There are two stud defencemen that'll probably go in the top five at the draft that both happen to speak Russian. That's Conroy's plan. |

From what I have read so far Tij is projected around 15th. They are projected around 10th. That might be a stretch for them to take him there. But if they can trade down and gain an extra asset and him that's a solid go. |

So Conroys plan is to get lucky at the lottery and move up into the top 5?

Not gonna lie. This is looking a lot more like a rebuild than a retool. Which makes me extremely happy.

Nice!!!! What young wouldnt want to come to a freshly starting rebuilding team eh. - Kevin R
From what I recall, they went for a lot of wingers with size in the last draft which explains why Conroy went heavy on the already drafted D prospects with the trades this season. Calgary's defense prospect pool went from porr to decent.
With the absolute need to pick in the top 10 next year, I can see them absolutely trading Markstrom this off season and trying to ice a "younger" team.
